Video: Rescuing Macaws

To learn more about our parrot rescue program and the work we do in Honduras, please watch this short video.  In the video, Dr. LoraKim Joyner of One Earth Conservation treats scarlet macaw chicks that were rescued from poachers in La Moskitia, Honduras. She is also training the local people to do this work themselves. In this clip, you can see that the chicks are thin, malnourished, cold, and weak. They represent just a small percentage of the total number of parrot chicks that are poached every year in Honduras. Birds that are not rescued will live lives of desperation and never fly free, unless we can help them by confiscating them and taking them to the wild parrot rescue center.
